Frequently asked questions
Q. What does The Links Foundation fund?
A.
At the Links Foundation we provide funding to a wide range of community based organisations across Britain. We fund new or existing projects and can help meet costs such as salary, rent and stationery as well as capital costs. We do not, however, fund individuals or core costs.
Q. Where does the Links Foundation receive its funding from?
A.
All of our funding comes from Working Links (Employment) Limited (
www.workinglinks.co.uk). Working Links reinvests a proportion of its profits into the Foundation to support the communities where it operates.
Q. Where does the Links Foundation Fund?
A. We fund projects across England, Scotland and Wales. Although we are
funded by
Working Links,
we work independently so are able to help projects even where Working Links don't
operate.
Q. How often does the Board of Directors make funding decisions?
A.
Our Board meets every four months. The closing date for applications is four weeks before the Board meeting. To find out when the next meeting is check out the News section.
Q. How long does funding last for?
A.
Funding lasts for one year after written confirmation that your project has been successful.
Q. How much funding is available?
A.
As we are solely funded by Working Links our funding levels depend on their profitability. Our average spend per project is currently about £20k.
Q. Does the Links Foundation provide part funding?
A.
Yes we can. Sometimes organisations only need a small contribution from us because they have already secured other money elsewhere. In other situations we might consider contributing towards funding rather than allocating the whole amount. So when applying for funding please be thorough when identifying project costs. This will ensure the Board is well informed in making their decisions. (See Project Application Guidance Notes for more information).
Q. If I’m successful in being awarded funding, how do I claim it?
A.
Once you have received written confirmation saying you have been successful, the money is then available for up to one year. To claim funding you need to invoice us with a sheet detailing expenditure with associated receipts. (Please note in all cases we need to see that monies have been spent. Only in very exceptional circumstances would an advance payment be made).
