Walter
Kemp
Walter, the chairman of the Links Foundation, is also currently Senior Workforce
Development Manager for the North of England Microelectronics Institute, The North
East representative of the National Forum of Engineering Centres, and Chairman of
one of Working Links’ Local Management Boards in the North East of England.
His previous experience is in the field of education and training, the latter with
the L.S.C in particular the development and implementation of skills strategies
and plans around significant physical regeneration projects in disadvantaged communities.
Such areas often contain or are surrounded by areas of deprivation and high unemployment.
Walter says “There needs to be scope for the local people to benefit from the job
opportunities that Regeneration projects bring – to be included, not excluded, and
integrated not isolated. That is why I am a great supported of the work that Working
Links and by extension, the Links Foundation does. Both organisations work hard
to provide support and skills to people to help them secure and keep a job. A job
can be literally life – changing for people and I’ve seen the physical, mental and
material improvements for myself where people have been supported in realising their
potential. I am proud to continue to help the Links Foundation and Working Links
extend this important work in whatever way I can.”
