Scott Marshall
Job title: Acting Director Cultural Services Brighton & Hove City Council
Born and educated in Brighton and Hove, Scott graduated from Coventry University with
a BA (Hons) degree in Economic Development and Planning. He spent a year with
the Department for Trade and Industry in West London
designing and developing enterprise, employment and training programmes. He then moved
to a private sector regeneration consultancy in central London where he headed a
team of specialist consultants for eight years.
He was commissioned by local, regional
and European clients in the public, private and community sectors. His
key areas of expertise and interest revolved around economic development, regeneration
performance management and project development. It also
involved community capacity building, equal
opportunities and local labour market research.
He joined Brighton and Hove City
Council in September 1999 as Economic Development Manager and in 2002 became
Assistant Director of Economic Development & Regeneration.
Since August 2006 Scott has been Acting Director of Cultural Services with responsibility for the City
Council’s Libraries, Royal Pavilion & Museums, Arts and Creative Industries,
Major Projects & Venues and Economic Development & Regeneration Services.
He is a Board Member the Brighton & Hove BID and Observer Member
of the Sussex Innovation Centre as well as Links Foundation.
